General Conference - Closing Session

This afternoon, the 38th session of the General Conference will be closing in a plenary session at 4:00 p.m. in Room I with the adoption of the report of the Joint Meeting of Commissions and the Appropriation Resolution for 2016-2017.

The ceremony will be closed by the UNESCO Choir, conducted by Mr Jorge Lozano-Corres.

20th session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the World Heritage Convention

The 20th session of the General Assembly of States Parties to the World Heritage Convention will be held today. The venue of the morning session is Room XII, whereas the afternoon session, as well as the sessions of 19 and 20 November will be in Room II.

The session will be called upon to replace the outgoing members of the World Heritage Committee and determine the amount of the contributions of States Parties to the World Heritage Fund in accordance with the provisions of Article 16 of the World Heritage Convention.

The elections of members of the World Heritage Committee will take place today from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and tomorrow from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in Rooms VI and VII.

The ballot papers will be distributed today in Room II at the beginning of the afternoon session of the 20th session of the General Assembly of States Parties at the start of the election process (Item 6 of the provisional agenda).
