Louis Pasteur’s Archive

Documentary heritage submitted by France and recommended for inclusion in the Memory of the World Register in 2015.

Louis Pasteur is one of the the most universally known, recognized and celebrated scientific figures. The Pasteur Collection of the National Library and the archives of the Academy of Sciences show a number of reflections, experiences and major experiments for the history of science, development and applications. The archive presented in this application is in many ways emblematic of the mark Pasteur left on his time, and the 19th century in general - across diverse technological, intellectual, scientific, industrial and social fields.
