A network of specialists in education law and of senior officials in the national education, ELA benefits from representatives of international and European Organisations and institutions: in particular the European Commission, the Council of Europe, UNESCO, the OECD and the European Court of Human Rights. It organises a number of individual study-days on a current policy topic for the European Union and its Member States. It publishes the European Journal for Education Law and Policy.

The publication of a Special issue on Equality of opportunity in Education, in collaboration with UNESCO is in process.

UNESCO recognises ELA's potential to make very important contribution to the work on the right to education, especially relating to the analysis of national legislation and jurisprudence for effective enforcement of normative instruments relating to the right to education.

ELA and UNESCO are cooperating for a study on the access to education and the right to education. This is based on in-depth research in country specific situation.
