    International Reading Association (IRA)
    The International Reading Association is a professional membership organization dedicated to promoting high levels of literacy for all by improving the quality of reading instruction, disseminating research and information about reading, and encouraging the lifetime reading habit.

    The International Reading Association Literacy Award, which carries a US$15,000 prize, is presented each September by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as part of the world celebration of International Literacy Day.
