UNESCO Chair in Life Sciences, established in the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of
Armenia, Yerevan, Life
Sciences International Postgraduate Educational Center in
collaboration with WHO and European Office of Aerospace Research and
Development (EOARD) is organizing the traditional international Seminar on
"Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms of the Biological Effects of EMF"
and Workshop on "The Mechanisms of the Biological Effect of Extra High
Power Pulses", on 1-5 March 2005 in Yerevan (Armenia).


Seminar Topics

In the proposed seminar the following questions will be discussed:

1. The effect of ELF EMF and EHPP on physico-chemical properties of water and water solutions

2. The cellular and molecular mechanism of the effect of ELF EMF and EHPP-treated physiological solutions on cells, tissues and animal behavioral activity

3. The cellular and molecular mechanism of ELF EMF and EHPP direct espouse effect on cells, tissues and animal behavioral activity

4. The cellular and molecular mechanism of therapeutic effect of ELF EMF and EHPP

5. Round table "Discussion on possible use of EMF-induced water structure changes and cell hydration in EMF Standard Harmonization".

6. Practical courses "The mechanisms of biological effect of EHPP", to record EHPP-induced non thermal effect on a) water, b) plants, c) microbes, d) sperm, e) hearth muscle contractility, f) single neurons excitability and chemo sensitivity, g) pain threshold of rats.
