ICT in Education

©UNESCO AMMAN

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can contribute to universal access to education, equity in education, the delivery of quality learning and teaching, teachers’ professional development and more efficient education management, governance and administration. UNESCO’s global network of offices, institutes and partners provide Member States with resources for elaborating ICT in education policies, strategies and activities.

In Jordan, UNESCO is working with the Ministry of Education to transition their education management information system onto the royalty-free UNESCO OpenEMIS system. OpenEMIS collects and analyzes data, provides standard education indicators and powerful data visualizations, identifies disparities and gaps, facilitates resource allocation and data-driven decisions, and improves planning and monitoring so that Jordan is able to use better data for better outcomes.
