Short Description Activities of the UNESCO Chair in Heritage Studies
Long Description Major Activities:
  • Launch of MA in World Heritage Studies within the European Union’s SOCRATES/ERASMUS framework.
  • Launch of an EU-Australia Pilot Co-operation in Higher Education “Sharing Our Heritages” with four European and four Australian Universities.
  • Elaboration of Management Plans for World Heritage Sites “Kloster Lorsch” and “Grube Messel” by post graduate students in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the State of Hesse.
  • Research project partnerships towards the development of multidisciplinary strategies for conservation and use of heritage sites in Asia and Europe (MUMA);
  • Attendance at national and international conferences and meetings related to the preservation and protection of World Heritage sites.
  • Inter-university exchanges, of note towards the establishment of a Teaching Centre for Cultural Heritage in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the EC ASIA-LINK partnership with universities in Spain, India and China.
