Tajikistan joined UNESCO on April 6, 1993. The country is covered by the UNESCO Office Almaty, in Kazakhstan.

Tajikistan holds two UNESCO Chairs. Currently, the country has 6 schools participating in UNESCO’s Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet).
