EDUCATION

Spain

Spain, the home country of the former UNESCO Director-General, Federico Mayor, joined UNESCO on June 30, 1953. The considerable number of UNESCO Chairs in Spain, over 50, is testimony to the importance of the links between the country and the Organization.

As of September 2006, Spain has 175 schools participating in the UNESCO’s Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet).
