The Director-General welcomed the creation of a new UNESCO Chair. He said, “This third Chair and yesterday’s UNESCO/Avicenna Prize ceremony (see Flash Info n°65 –2004) are symbols of the importance UNESCO places on strengthening cooperation with Iran.”

The agreement was signed in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Moein, Head of the Research Centre of Asthma and Immunology, Mr Sadegh Kharazi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in France and Dr. Ahmad Jalali, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of the Islamic Republic of Iran to UNESCO.
