The UNESCO Chairs of the Culture Sector and the Chairs Portal, which has been set up by UNITWIN, not only cover all the cultural domains but they are also in the privileged position of being able to proffer their expertise in the implementation of programmes.

In particular, they endeavour to fulfil one of the Organization’s objectives, i.e., the transfer of knowledge and this has been achieved, mainly thanks to the mobilization of professors, researchers and students, besides reinforcing international solidarity, especially between the North and South.

Whether it is in the domain of copyright and neighbouring rights, related rights of creativity, cultural policies, tangible as well as intangible heritage, cultural tourism, intercultural dialogue, the Chairs contribute in an efficient and multidisciplinary manner towards the sustainment of cultural diversity and by responding to the social and cultural requirements of our time.

The Culture Chairs show that the education systems in different countries are complementary and that they are required to function in complete synergy, and this criteria should also be applied to the other Chairs in UNESCO.
