Fields / Disciplines
Earth sciences, ecology and environment, resources saving, and geo-informatics.
Objectives- The purpose of the Chair shall be to promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the fields of earth sciences, ecology and environment, resources saving, and geo-informatics. It will serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University and other institutions in Ukraine, and the region(s) of Central and Eastern Europe.
The objectives of its activities shall be:
- 1)Creation of educational potential for supplying regions with specialists in management of regional development, especially in the field of renewable energy production, and recreational development;
- 2) Elaboration of the curriculum in the domains of regional sustainable development and eco-energetic and environmental sciences;
- 3)Carrying out of scientific and research work and education of specialists in new approaches to environmental protection and use of natural resources for the sustainable development of Ukraine;
- 4) In addressing the above-mentioned objectives, the Chair shall, as appropriate, liaise with and contribute to relevant activities that may be brought to its attention by UNESCO, such as the European Network on Education & Training in Renewable Energy Sources (EURONETRES), and make full use of the biosphere reserve concept and related experiences, in particular within the EuroMAB context.
