Fields / Disciplines
Gender research.

Objectives
    The specific objectives of this Chair are to :
  • facilitate the development of policy-relevant research on gender equality around the world;
  • support and develop international networking to facilitate the exchange of ideas, research and policy developments, especially between the North and South, using seminars, exchanges of students and faculty, reports, ICT and other means; c.- support research on policy-relevant gender equality issues;
  • build capacity in policy-relevant gender equality research; curriculum development, student training at graduate level; exchange staff;
  • facilitate exchanges between researchers and policy makers, in the context of UN instruments for promoting women’s rights and the Millennium Development Goals;
  • collaborate with UNESCO in the implementation of its Gender Equality policy and strategy.
