  UNITWIN and Communication and Information

UNITWIN was established in 1992 with the aim of developing interuniversity cooperation, while emphasizing the transfer of knowledge between universities and the promotion of academic solidarity across the world.

The general key objectives of UNESCO Chairs and UNITWIN Networks in the area of communication and information are following:
  • To encourage the free circulation of information in both the international and national areas
  • To promote wider and more balanced dissemination of information without constraint upon freedom of expression
  • To develop methods that will strengthen the communication capacities of developing countries to increase their participation in the communication process
  • To promote research, training and expertise in informatics and electronics, emphasis being put on Internet technology, intelligent technologies and modern design tool
