20-11-2009 GUNI-Audiovisual presented at the 2009 UNESCO WCHE

The Global University Network for Innovation (GUNI) presented an audiovisual on the occasion of the World Conference on Higher Education (Paris, 5-8 July 2009).

The Global University Network for Innovation (GUNI) presented an audiovisual on the occasion of the World Conference on Higher Education (Paris, 5-8 July 2009), within the framework of an special session. With this audiovisual, GUNI aims to debate on higher education’s visions and actions to strengthen social transformation’s role.

Higher education faces the challenge of creating and distributing socially relevant knowledge and of doing it with anticipation so as to play a proactive and committed role in the transformation and positive change of societies.

To face these challenges, the mission of GUNI is to contribute to the strengthening of higher education’s role in society through the reform and innovation of higher education policies across the world under a vision of public service, relevance and social responsibility.

Therefore, GUNI wishes to pose a debate on the role of higher education as agents of social transformation and how its visions and actions could be re-oriented towards the creation and distribution of socially relevant knowledge and a complex understanding of reality.
