Territorial development and education for the countryside

Objectives
  • The purpose of the Chair shall be to promote an integrated system of research, training, information and documentation in the field of Territorial development and education for the countryside. It will serve as a means of facilitating collaboration between high-level, internationally recognized researchers and teaching staff of the University and other institutions in Brazil and elsewhere in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as in other regions of the world.


    The overall objectives of the Chair are to:
  • develop a sustainable relationship between the international academic community and rural social movements representing peasant communities through the sponsorship and administration of meetings, conferences, courses, and publications; and
  • Promote geography, history, anthropology, pedagogy, sociology, agricultural engineering, veterinary sciences, geosciences, and the use of new technologies for a better quality of life.
