aspnet.jpgAnnouncement of the third Mondialogo School Contest’s winners

The Third International Symposium of the Mondialogo School Contest was held in Beijing, China, from 25 to 28 September 2008. During this event, the international Jury rewarded the winners of the contest.

The First Prize went to the joint team Lebanon-Serbia for their project on inclusive education, designing a playground for children with special needs. The Indonesia-Ukraine team received the Second prize for their project of mobile library on bike, allowing children from remote areas to access education. The Third Prize was shared between the Germany-Mexico and the Syrian Arab Republic-USA teams, working respectively on the issue of migration and the Iraqi refugee children in Syria.

Special prizes for sustainability and cultural diversity went respectively to the Russian Federation-Turkey and Benin-USA teams. Among these 12 rewarded schools, 5 participate in the UNESCO Associated Schools network (ASPnet).

One hundred participants from 50 schools from 36 different countries attended this International Symposium (1 teacher and 1 student per team), including 16 UNESCO Associated Schools. Furthermore, three ASPnet National Coordinators (from Egypt, Iran and the Russian Federation) were also invited to Beijing and could attend all the events and activities organized during this 4-day Symposium.
