International experience has shown clearly that the most effective programmes for conserving and managing cultural heritage are those that harness the energies and commitment of the community. Management based on the priorities and real concerns of those living in or with cultural heritage, both tangible and intangible, is without exception more relevant and long lasting. Experience overseas and within Pakistan, are testament to this principle. The Department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Pakistan intends to organize a Two Day National Seminar on “Integrating the community into the safeguarding of Pakistan’s Interreligious Cultural Heritage” during September, 2010.
Venue of Seminar: Pakistan Institute of Archaeological Training and Research, Old Fort, Lahore, Pakistan.
