From the Geneva HQs, support has been provided to the Education for Development (E4D) Network in National Committees to promote commitment to global solidarity education, by increasing children's and young people's awareness about global development and UNICEF's work. E4D provides children with opportunities to exercise solidarity and contribute to the realization of child rights globally and promote understanding between cultures.
For example, initiatives such as "Teach UNICEF" led by the US Fund allow for quality education on development issues, allowing for young people to develop a greater appreciation for the situation of their peers globally.
DOC Online activities promoted by E4D, such as "Connecting Classrooms" allow for students around the world to engage in dialogue with each other and collaborate together to create focused, high-quality content that helps to shape youth viewpoint on issues like global health, food and agriculture, and climate change enahncing a greater understanding and respect of cultural, ethnic, linguistic and religious diversity.
Students' contributions reflect their realities, hopes and fears and give them a long-overdue voice in shaping their future.
