Alliance of Civilizations : Rapid Response Media Mechanism in the Euro-Mediterranean region

Résumé

This initiative is part of the cluster of projects named "Restore Trust, rebuild bridges". The media can play an important role in helping to create the conditions for increased understanding and mutual respect among diverse cultures. The Alliance developed a tool to help broaden the debate on divisive intercultural issues and to support journalists covering theses issues. The Rapid Response Media Mechanism (RRMM) provides media professionals with free and direct access to a broad range of experts who are in a position to give interviews on issues ranging from human rights and terrorism to religion and politics. At the core of the RRMM is an online resource, GlobalExpertFinder.org, which allows journalists to search for experts and contact them directly for comments.
The Alliance developed a partnership with the European Commission and the Anna Lindh Foundation to launch a Rapid Response Media Mechanism in the Euromed region; A network of Euromed experts was developed specifically for journalists in the regions.
