    UNESCO enjoys the support of Special Envoys, who serve as the standard-bearers of the Organization. Through their professional activities and their personal charisma, they help ensure that UNESCO’s message is heard worldwide. UNESCO Special Envoys are exceptional personalities whose input into the Organization’s work is invaluable. Their association with various UNESCO programmes and projects provides multiple benefits; their name recognition and role model capacity is critical in enhancing public awareness about a variety of important issues for us. Their outstanding experience and insight makes them a powerful source of inspiration not just to the Organization’s staff but also to the public at large.

    The following personalities are currently designated as UNESCO Special Envoy:
