UNESCO aims to:-
  • Promote and protect human rights/ human security and democracy
  • Promote ethical values, which will guide the use of science and technology towards development that makes the improvement of the quality of human life the priority
  • Contribute to the sustainability of a better quality of life for entire communities by promoting action oriented policies based on research.

    27 May 2005 Memorandum of Understanding, between UNESCO, GEF SGP/UNDP and ILO directs more funds to young people UNESCO Office for the Caribbean
    On Friday 27th May, 2005, the United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Office for the Caribbean, the Global Environmental Facility Small Grants Programme, United Nations Development Programme (GEF SGP UNDP) and the International Labour Organisation (ILO) will be signing a Memorandum of Understanding, which will direct more funds to young people in poor and marginalised communities in Barbados and the OECS. More
