The UNESCO Portal offers a wide range of online and interactive services tailored for specialized audiences such as media professionals, librarians, statisticians, legal officers, students, researchers and candidates for jobs at UNESCO.

  • News Service
    Resources for press and media professionals. Also offers access to an online bookshop, photobank, news items, The UNESCO Courier, and Visitor Services for onsite tours of UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

  • Documentary Resources
    Users can consult databases of UNESCO Archives, Library and Official Documents and Publications (UNESDOC) complemented with useful tools such as documentation resources, a UNESCO Thesaurus, directories and bibliographies.

  • Statistics
    Internationally comparable statistics on core themes such as Education, Literacy, Culture, Communication, Science and Technology produced by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics are available online. Technical guides, publications, news and links complement customizable tables that can be dowloaded in a variety of formats.

  • Legal Instruments
    International Conventions, Recommendations and Declarations from the General Conference can be found by type and by theme. The official text is online in HTML versions in English and French, and in PDF format for all six official languages of UNESCO (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian and Chinese).

  • Employment/Internships
    Potential candidates for employment at UNESCO can consult current vacancies, evaluate their own profile, apply online and check status of existing applications.
    Students can register their profiles online to be considered for 1-4 month internships at UNESCO.
