External Relations

External Relations

Within the framework of its action, UNESCO:

  • Concerts activities with its Member States, Associate Members and other territories. These relations are followed by the Sector for External Relations and Public Information (ERI). Relations with African states are coordinated by the Africa Department (AFR).

  • Coordinates activities with all sister agencies and institutions from the United Nations system.

  • Cooperates with numerous other international, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations and with other institutional partners and civil society.

  • Collaborates with bilateral and multilateral donors, development banks, and private sector foundations.
