International Council for the Study of the Pacific Islands

Facilitating mutual cooperation between institutions and organizations dedicated to Pacific Islands Studies is the main objective of the International Council for the Study of the Pacific Islands (ICSPI). Officially launched in December 2003 at a ceremony at the National University of Samoa, the Council serves as UNESCO's main partner for implementing social and human sciences in the region, with the UNESCO Apia Office hosting the secretariat for the Council.
