Training and Capacity Building

In terms of training and capacity building, specialists and technicians from individual SIDS have taken part in various group training activities organized by UNESCO.

One example was the participation of specialists from five SIDS (Cook Islands, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu) in a Asia-Pacific regional training course on hydrological data logging and management held at James Cook University in Queensland (Australia) in December 2001. Another was support to Cook Islands water sector personnel in regional training and networking activities in late 2004.
