Graduation from least developed country status

The aim of this website is to provide information on UNESCO's response to the implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States, encapsulated in the Mauritius Strategy and the Mauritius Declaration adopted by the International Meeting held in Mauritius in January 2005.

UNESCO is not directly concerned in discussions on ‘Graduation from least developed country status’ – an issue which comes under the aegis of the United Nations in New York.
