The purpose of the evaluation is to describe and analyse how EDUCAIDS has operated and how well it has achieved its objectives since its inception in March 2004. The evaluation involved two in-depth case studies conducted in Kenya and Namibia.
It also involved an extensive consultation process involving key partners and stakeholders involved in the education sector.
Preliminary findings of the evaluation show the instrumental role of UNESCO in mobilizing partners and in advocating for comprehensive education sector responses at country level.
The evaluation, which will be finalized shortly, will provide concrete recommendations for improving and scaling up EDUCAIDS as well as for strengthening coordination among partners at country level.
