The engagement of the private sector at all levels is vital in the effectiveness of any national response to HIV and AIDS.

UNESCO's collaboration with the private sector includes, most notably the agreement with the Global Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, and joint programme with L’Oréal.
