HIV and AIDS Communication and Information

HIV and AIDS Communication and Information

    UNESCO’s Communication and Information Sector is carrying out activities in the following thematic areas:

    • Capacity building of various societal groups (professional media and communication institutions, information and communication specialists, trainers, community leaders and members such as youth, especially young girls) in researching, identifying, developing, producing, sharing accurate, updated and preventive information, and exchanging knowledge and experience on various HIV and AIDS issues;


    • Advocacy and awareness raising campaigns by using communication and information means in order to encourage interactive public debate and increase information flows through establishment of creative structures such as community and social networks; and


    • Communication of HIV- and AIDS-related information through a variety of media channels, websites and ICT platforms.
