Science, HIV and AIDS

Advancing scientific knowledge and supporting networks of scientists

    UNESCO's Natural Sciences Sector contributes to UNESCO's response to HIV and AIDS by engaging the scientific community and institutions responsible for research and training in science and technology, and in particular, in sharing of knowledge and information.

    Advancing scientific knowledge

    • Support the development of scientific and educational partnerships between developed and developing countries;
    • Ensure training and access to higher education programmes for African doctors.

    Networks of Scientists

    • Establishing a network of African scientists who could serve as resource persons in HIV and AIDS education programmes.
