FRESH - Focusing Resources on Effective School Health
FRESH is an inter-agency initiative for Focusing Resources on Effective School Health. It proposes a framework for designing and implementing effective school health programmes - a 'boiling down' to basics of the partner agencies' combined experience in the area of school health.
Four core components:
- School health policies;
- Water, sanitation and the environment;
- Skills-based health education;
- School-based health services.
Three supporting strategies:
- Partnerships between education and health;
- Community partnerships;
- Pupil awareness and participation.
The overall goal of FRESH is to make schools healthier for children, children more able to learn, and Education for All more likely to be achieved.
