The Fourth Wave: Violence, Gender, Culture & HIV in the 21st Century

This publication offers original insights and empirical analyses of the socio-cultural factors which shape the gendered course of the HIV and AIDS pandemic. It gathers the work of 30 accredited authors, senior policy makers and young scholars.

The full publication, to published by UNESCO and the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), will be launched later in 2009. In advance, the collated overview and chapter abstracts, and other information, is available here.

In UNESCO, the publication was prepared by the Division for Gender Equality of the Bureau of Strategic Planning in collaboration with the Division for Cultural Policies and Intercultural Dialogue of the Culture Sector.
