UNESCO’s Virtual Institute for Higher Education in Africa to offer free online training on HIV & AIDS and education

UNESCO’s Virtual Institute for Higher Education in Africa (VIHEAF), in collaboration with the Association of African Universities (AAU) and the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA) is launching free online training on “Accelerating Eradication of HIV and AIDS through Education”.

The training, which begins 15 June 2009, presents the latest information on HIV & AIDS and how the education sector at basic and higher education levels can effectively respond to the epidemic. It targets teachers, parents, policy-makers, medical practitioners and caregivers.

The training is part of the VIHEAF’s efforts to develop technical capacity at the individual and institutional levels in Africa.
