United Nations System in Southern Africa

UNESCO belongs to the United Nations family and as such shares the same ideals and goals: peace and security, justice and human rights, promotion of economic and social progress and better standard of living. It maintains different forms of cooperation with other specialized agencies, funds and programmes which belong to the system as stipulated in Article XI of its Constitution.

The UNESCO Office in Windhoek is working in close cooperation with the UN Country Teams of the following countries:

  • United Nations Team in Angola
  • United Nations Team in Lesotho
  • United Nations Team in Namibia
  • United Nations Team in South Africa
  • United Nations Team in Swaziland
