Announcement: World Climate Conference-3

Within the framework of the World Climate Conference-3, UNESCO’s Division for Gender Equality, Bureau of Strategic Planning, assisted by the Science Sector, are organizing, in collaboration with FAO, WMO, GGCA (Global Gender and Climate Alliance), UNDP, IUCN and UNEP, the “Gender and Climate Forum”.

The Forum, which will be held at the Geneva International Conference Centre, on 1 September 2009, from 1.30 p.m until 3.00 p.m., intends to explore the linkages between gender and climate issues in order to inform the discussions of the World Climate Conference. Ultimately, this session intends to lead to the adaptation of a “gendered approach” to the expected results and outcomes of the Conference.

The agenda for the day is available here if you type the following in your browser: www.wmo.int/wcc3/sessionsdb/documents/F1_gender.doc
