7th Forum on Gender Equality
Beijing: 15 Years After
19 October 2009 - Room IX - 6 pm to 7.30 pm

In collaboration with the Permanent Delegation of the United States of America, the Division for Gender Equality in the Bureau of Strategic Planning is organizing a Round Table within the framework of the “Forum on Gender Equality”. The event will be followed by a Reception.
 
Melanne Verveer.JPG The Round Table, on the theme “Beijing: 15 Years After”, will explore the progress made in the twelve critical areas of action of the Beijing Platform for Action adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing in 1995.

The seminar will feature:

- Ambassador Melanne Verveer - US Global Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues

- Ambassador Irina Bokova - UNESCO Director-General elect
