UNESCO and the National Federation of UNESCO Associations in Japan (NFUAJ) are co-organizing a Regional seminar of Clubs for UNESCO in the Asia Pacific to be held in Nara (Japanese World Heritage site) from 25 to 27 September 2010.
UNESCO contributed to facilitate the participation of the UNESCO Clubs’ members from LDC countries in this activity.
The main theme of this meeting is “the UNESCO Clubs’ role in the promotion of World/Local Heritage”. 13 Member countries of the Asia Pacific Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations (AFUCA) will share their experience and explore the ways to better achieve this task by cooperating with other UNESCO’s civil society partners (ASPnet, NGOs etc). Total of 800 club members are expected to attend this event.
