UNESCO Director-General participates in the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE)

On 24 January, UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova took part in a policy debate on the “right to participate in cultural life” held in Strasbourg within the framework of the winter session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

In addition to Irina Bokova’s participation, this session of the PACE, held from 23 to 27 January, included speeches by British Prime Minister David Cameron, Finnish President Tarja Halonen and United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of UN Women Michelle Bachelet.
