A unique corpus of documentary evidence relating to the lives of enslaved Caribbean people through the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, that is preserved by the Barbados Museum and Historical Society. The collection provides invaluable source material for scholars studying the history of Barbados, the model for the development of the plantation economies of the Caribbean and North America.
