Education Assessment-LLECE

Quality education is a right for by all, and also the sixth goal in UNESCO’s global education agenda, Education for All (EFA). This priority makes education assessment vital in order to monitor the achievement of these objectives and to correct education policies to better provide quality education for all.

Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE)

OREALC/UNESCO Santiago works in coordination with the countries of the region through its Latin American Laboratory for Assessment of the Quality of Education (LLECE), a network of national education quality assessment directors across Latin America and the Caribbean (see Coordination).

LLECE produces information and knowledge that enrich education policy making, by preparing its reports on studies that reflect the state of education quality in the region.

It also contributes to the development of education assessment capacities in

the region by offering specialised training courses, and serves as a forum to share, generate ideas and discuss best practices in education.

The results of LLECE’s evaluations have opened the way for discussion regarding education in the region and to focus on quality without exclusion, providing information that help to understand the magnitude and nature of the challenges that the education in Latin America and the Caribbean faces.
