Fundamental principles of documentary heritage digitization

© League of Nations Archives, UNOG Library
Specialized equipment for digitization

The digitization guidelines document collates the basic information needed to understand the requirements of digitization.

It is not exhaustive, but serves as a primer, especially for developing countries, to guide or inform on digitization. It sets out the most basic elements to be taken into consideration before embarking on the process of digitizing documentary heritage. It includes a small bibliography of international source documents that are currently available online. These should not necessarily be interpreted as having been endorsed by UNESCO or reflecting the Organization’s views.
