Original Negative of the Noticiero ICAIC Lationamericano

Documentary heritage submitted by Cuba and recommended for inclusion in the Memory of the World Register in 2009.

The ICAIC Latin-American Newsreels were produced weekly from 1960 to 1990, and represents a unique historical document depicting events such as world's growing bipolarisation, the independence wars of African colonies and popular uprisings. These newsreels are of far more than local significance, although even as a record of the Cuban political process they deserve a place in the world's memory as the most comprehensive record of the history of the Cuban Revolution.

  • Year of submission: 2008
  • Year of inscription: 2009
  • Country: Cuba
