Normative Action - Heritage

UNESCO's normative action in the field of heritage is two-fold:

International level: elaborate international instruments (Conventions, Recommendations and Declarations) to strengthen protection of cultural heritage.

 To learn more about UNESCO's actions and Conventions for the protection of:

A new Declaration was adopted on Cultural Heritage and its Intentional Destruction (2003).

 

National level: UNESCO also assists Member States, on their request and within UNESCO programmes and resources, in the elaboration and implementation of adequate national legislation for an effective protection of their cultural heritage.
