©UN Water

On 21 March 2014 the World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) will launch the 2014 World Water Development Report at UNU Campus, in Tokyo, Japan, during the celebrations of the World Water Day.
With this latest edition, the flagship report of UN-Water is the first of a new series of shorter thematic reports, concentrating on different strategic water issue each year in conjunction with the UN appointed theme of World Water Day.

The WWDR 2014 provides a detailed analysis of the complex interlinkages between water and energy in the context of sustainable development.

The report describes the potential water-related constraints, challenges, impacts and opportunities related to different type of energy production. This will ultimately determine what the future global energy mix will mean for water resources and the people and sectors that also depend upon them.
