Inventorying Intangible Cultural Heritage in Madagascar 

This international workshop aims at discussing and defining a preliminary suitable template for a National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Madagascar. 
Its main objectives are to:
  • enhance knowledge of intangible cultural heritage;
  • establish methodologies for inventorying intangible cultural heritage and produce an inventory form;
  • familiarize national officials with the mechanisms of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003), and provide them with information to begin inventorying intangible cultural heritage;
  • organize training in the documentation of intangible cultural heritage.

Organized by the UNESCO Office in Dar es Salaam, the workshop will be attended by government officials working in the field of culture at the central and regional levels.
