UNESCO’s National Office for Iraq is temporarily hosted by the UNESCO National Office in Amman, Jordan.

In October 2004, UNESCO launched a 15-month project to lay out the groundwork for a National Water Resources Master Plan for Iraq. The project came in response to an urgent request from the Iraqi Ministry of Water Resources.

Current UNESCO-related projects in Iraq are focused on education and the conservation of world heritage.
