Four cultural sites inscribed on the World Heritage List provide a good indication of the wealth of the Sultanate of Oman.

Thanks to the generous contribution of this State Party, all of the reference texts related to the implementation of the World Heritage Convention have been translated into Arabic.
The country receives aid from UNESCO in the form of professional training and awareness-raising among the younger generation, and scientific work on safeguarding of earthen architecture.
With regard to arts and cultural industries, the Oman Traditional Music Centre is making every effort to collect documents and to produce audiovisual materials and publications.
In 2006, Muscat was proclaimed Arab Cultural Capital in the framework of the Arabia Plan.
