The Marshall Islands joined UNESCO on June 30, 1995. The country is covered by the Organization’s Apia Office in Samoa.
In August 2005, on the 10th anniversary of the country’s adhesion to the Organization, Director-General Koďchiro Matsuura visited the Islands
In February 2005, the staff of the government radio station V7AB participated in a workshop, “Getting the Message Across - Transparency and Governance in the Marshall Islands” sponsored by UNESCO’s International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC).
