Georgia is mainly involved in earth sciences-related projects, though several UNESCO Chairs have been implemented in the country on biosphere reserves, oceanography and environmental sciences management.

People, Biodiversity and Ecology

- UNESCO Chair on Biosphere Reserves, established in 1999 at the Georgian State Agrarian University More

- UNESCO Chair in Environmental Sciences and Management, established in 1995 at the Technical University of Georgia More

Oceans

- UNESCO Chair in Oceanography, established in 1997 at Tbilisi Ivane Javakhishvili State University More

Earth Sciences

- The Rheic Ocean: Its origin, evolution, and correlatives (IGCP, Project 497)

- Submarine Mass Movements and their Consequences (IGCP, Project 511)

- Coastal vulnerability related to sea level change (IGCP, Project 515)

- Black Sea-Mediterranean Corridor during the last 30,000 years: Sea level change and human adaptation (IGCP, Project 521)
